Updates

Welcome to Notes, a space for reflection and exploration. This page is an evolving collection of thoughts, ideas, and projects—spanning writing, design, storytelling, and the intersections of art, technology, and human experience.

More than just a webpage, Notes serves as a personal space to document insights, experiments, and inspirations. It’s a portfolio, a journal, and a place for exploration and curiosity to take shape. It is an effort toward exploring ideas, capturing moments, and sharing perspectives, whether by delving into poetry and creative or applied writing, design, user experience, applied research, or simply the joys of the natural world.

I invite you to join me in this journey of words and discover what writing can be.

The aim of this group project was to create a tabletop game rulebook based on a short story. “The Nursery” is a board game inspired by the short story "The Veldt" by Ray Bradbury. In its essence, the story is about the struggle between human beings and technology or artificial intelligence. The board game examines the relationship between human beings and technology, questioning whether automated advancements can substitute for human connection and care. Throughout the game, players confront the tension between technological dominance and the erosion of human agency. The players find themselves in this automated house, where advanced nursery technology has overtaken human relationships and agency. The board game is designed so that the struggle is evident during the gameplay.

The aim of this project was to create and/or remix media to cultivate a gallery of online gardens using web content development skills in creative ways that generate stories and attend to a synthesis of multiple media channels in ways unique to the affordances of an online environment.

This project involved coding a site in HTML, and submitting a zip file to gain an understanding of the framework underlying webpages. Inspired by nature and by my garden, the title of this project is "Beautiful Red Roses on a Rainy Day."

The aim of this project was to create social media content that would engage a KSU English or MAPW social media audience (Facebook/Instagram), including the post text and relevant handles/hashtags, etc. The purpose was to think strategically about what we want to share and why, as well as to explore some tools.

I chose to work on the Decatur Book Festival, where I went to participate in the readings by KSU's emerging student writers at The Reading Room, Decatur, Georgia.

This photo essay was "Augusta, Georgia, after the Storm Helene: University and Other Operations Come to a Halt due to Widespread Power Outage" on September 26-27. The photos are from September 28, when I visited Augusta.

I write from my own life experiences, exploring relationships, family, imagery from surroundings, and imagination. Travel, migration, introspection, philosophical thoughts,  and feelings inspire me to write.
